COVID has changed every way of life lately, including the best ways to stage a home to sell. Whether you're hiring a professional stager, or just want advice on how to set up your current furniture, these five trends are worth the read.

1. Give your home a cozy feeling. Now, more than ever, people want to feel comfortable in their homes. Let’s face it, we’ve never spent more time collectively at home than we have in 2020. Think about what makes a cozy home: set your table with casual place settings, set up a coffee station in your kitchen, use all those throw blankets in your closet and drape them over couches and beds, display magazines and books on your coffee tables. You want your home to feel comfortable and livable nowadays.

2. Feature your home office. Whether you have a designated office in your home, an empty room, or a corner in your house, show people it’s possible t

o work from home. With so many people still not back to work and others not going back to an office setting ever, it’s important to show that your home can serve as an office as well.

3. Spotlight outdoor living. While restaurants have finally reopened to some capacity, many people are still choosing to stay home. Set up a fire pit with chairs surrounding them if you have, otherwise get some potted plants, set your patio table, and allow people to see that the comfort of your home goes beyond the four walls.

4. Have as much light as possible. Open your windows and pull up those blinds! People want to see all the natural light a home can get, especially during times of high anxiety. This simple trend is easy to do and will make a world of a difference!

5. Declutter strategically. Instead of putting everything away so you have as much space as possible, think about what makes a house a home. Leave the items that go back to number 1 and maintain the coziness of your home. You don’t want packed closets, and a junk filled garage, but you do want them to feel comfortable while touring your home so they can see themselves having a comfortable home there too.
